Our Vision, Our Mission

Our Core Values

From the Principal...
SCHOOL EFFECTIVENESS SURVEY
On Monday, each family received information and details about participating in a School Effectiveness Survey. All schools within Catholic Education Tasmania are undertaking this survey. The survey is about our school and is incredibly important to us as it will help us to understand the areas we are doing well in whilst also directing future focuses and vision for the school. Please help us out with this by completing the survey. I completed it the other day and it took me 10 - 15 mins.
PARENT / TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent / Teacher Conferences are taking place next week and hopefully you have taken the opportunity to book in an appointment time. If you missed the cut off time to make a booking, please contact your child's teacher as soon as possible so they can allocate a timeslot to you.
What is the purpose of parent / teacher conferences?
The purpose of parent-teacher conferences is to foster communication between parents and teachers about a student’s academic progress, behaviour and overall development. These meetings provide an opportunity to:
Discuss Academic Progress – Teachers share insights on the student's strengths, weaknesses, and overall performance in class.
Address Concerns – Parents and teachers can talk about any challenges the student may be facing, whether academic, behavioral or social.
Set Goals – Together, they can establish academic and behavioral goals for the student to work toward.
Improve Home-School Connection – Parents can gain a better understanding of what their child is learning and how they can support them at home.
Encourage Collaboration – These meetings help build a partnership between parents and teachers, ensuring they work together to support the child's success.

P & F FUNDS
Where would you like P & F funds to go to? Below are the three options that are being put forward (images are examples only and not necessarily the final product). A link has been posted in Compass where you can cast your vote.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT.......
Larmenier Catholic School P & F
The P & F meet approximately twice a term, Thursday evening at 7 pm in the Meeting Room at school. It is a great way to contribute to the life of the school and get to know other parents. You don't need to attend every meeting to be able to contribute and be part of the P & F. You may be able to help by assisting with planning and preparation for school events or reach out to businesses for donations etc.for raffles. Please email the P & F if you would like to get involved or can help in some way - pandf.lcs@catholic.tas.edu.au
PARENT LINK
Parent Link is an ongoing feature of the newsletter. It is an opportunity to identify areas or features of the school that you want to know more about, ask a question or put forward suggestions. These items can then be addressed and answered in the fortnightly newsletter in the ‘Tell Me More About’ section.
This is an opportunity to have a say every day......not just in a once-a-year parent survey.
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that we have CCTV that covers our buildings and grounds? The CCTV is there for the safety of our students, staff, parents and property.

Kind regards,
Niccola Pearce

Larmenier School Strategic Direction & Annual Plan
STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS AND 2025 ANNUAL PLAN
The Strategic Directions for the school 2025 - 2028 and the Annual Plan for 2025 are now published. The four domains from the Archbishop’s Charter of Catholic Identity, Learning, Leadership and Mission provide the framework and guidance for Catholic school plans. Our specific school focuses have been created to align with Catholic Education Tasmania’s 2025 Achievement Framework, using parent and staff surveys, staff consultation, the school’s response to the Archbishop’s Charter as well as student data and consultation.
PBS = Positive Behaviour Support
The primary objective of PBS is to teach students appropriate positive behaviours and where needed, have strategies to improve their behaviour. The focus is to be proactive more so than reactive.
School Expectations, Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Compassionate, set the standard for what we expect to see at Larmenier Catholic School and what we value. These expectations are grounded and based on our Core values which are based in the traditions of the Sisters of Nazareth, founded by Victoire Larmenier.
PBS Matrix is used by teachers to teach students what is expected behaviour in various settings around the school.
PBS Flow Chart shows our approach and processes as well as follow up when dealing with inappropriate behaviour.
Full copies of the documents can be accessed by clicking on the links below the images.

2025 Larmenier uniform
As we transition to our new P.E uniform, we realise that the uniform will be a bit of a 'mish mash' during this time. We acknowledge that and accept it as part of playing the 'long game.'
There will be a two-year change over period where we move from our current P.E uniform to our new one. This period can be longer for anyone who needs it to be. During this time either the old or new version of the uniform can be worn.
Please find attached a copy of the updated uniform guide, which also can be found on our website.
