Our Vision, Our Mission

Our Core Values

From the Principal...
ANZAC Day March
Larmenier will be marching in the ANZAC Day march on 25th April and attending the service that follows, it takes place during the school holidays. All students are invited to participate. We will gather at Coles' carpark in Charles Street at 9.30am before heading to Prince's Square at 9.45am to get ready for the march. Service starts at approx 10.45 am. At the conclusion of the service, approx 11.30 am, students can be collected from the cenotaph in Paterson St.
Please click on the link below if your child/ren will be participating in the ANZAC Day march. https://docs.google.com/
Students in K-2 wear sports uniform and students in years 3 - 6 wear formal winter uniform, including blazer. Please note the below message from Launceston RSL - The Launceston RSL encourages those students that have Service Medals or Replicas, of their Veteran relatives, to wear them on ANZAC Day. These medals must be worn on the right breast.
NORTHERN BASKETBALL COMPETITION
Our year 3 - 6 students have participated in the Nth Basketball Competition held over the last two weekends. We had some amazing results with some of our teams going through the comp undefeated. With other teams having only a couple of losses. Overall though, the highlight is the teamwork and sportsmanship that was displayed.
A huge thank you to Mrs Holmes who did all the admin work for the competition - it takes many hours to get everything organised.
Also a big thank you to the coaches and team managers for their time and effort. These events can not take place without parent support!

P & F FUNDS
The P and F met yesterday and based on the survey results from parents and students, the P&F will be funding the installation of a Gaga Ball Pit!

The school and P&F also see the great value in installing a chilled water fountain and updating our athletics tops. We will prioritise these items in future budget discussions so 'watch this space.'
TELL ME MORE ABOUT.......
Parent Engagement Opportunities
Parents are encouraged to take up opportunities to engage with and participate in the life of the school. Joining the P & F is a way to get to know other parents whilst helping with school community events. Joining the Farm Day program when your child's class is rostered is a great way to learn about the farm whilst learning alongside your child. Parents are invited to attend our fortnightly assemblies and our weekly class masses. Whole school events are also a great way to be part of the community and meet other parents.
We recently had our Parent Teacher Meetings with a high number of parents taking up this opportunity to discuss their child's learning and progress.

PARENT LINK
Parent Link is an ongoing feature of the newsletter. It is an opportunity to identify areas or features of the school that you want to know more about, ask a question or put forward suggestions. These items can then be addressed and answered in the fortnightly newsletter in the ‘Tell Me More About’ section.
This is an opportunity to have a say every day......not just in a once-a-year parent survey.

Farm Festival in 2025?
Are you interested in the school holding a Farm Festival in 2025? If so, we would need parent committment to make this happen. An event of this size can not take place with out a team of dedicated parent helpers.
We would need people to take on planning tasks, administration tasks as well as operational tasks during the event. We are looking to hold the Farm Festival at the beginning of term 4.
If we can't form a Farm Festival Committee we will not be able to proceed with the event this year.
If you are able to put your hand up to form a Farm Festival Committee for 2025, please indicate this by clicking on the link below and put your name forward.
Rainbows Program
Larmenier will be offering the Rainbows Program which is designed to help students deal with grief or loss experienced in their family life, such the loss of a loved one, family separation or other trauma. It helps support emotional healing, develops resilience and fosters communication skills across 12 weekly sessions. All participants plus the Facilitator are bound by confidentiality but each participant can discuss with a parent what they themselves feel or have shared.
If you would like more information or nominate your child to participate, please contact Mrs Verbeeten.

Larmenier School Strategic Direction & Annual Plan
STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS AND 2025 ANNUAL PLAN
The Strategic Directions for the school 2025 - 2028 and the Annual Plan for 2025 are now published. The four domains from the Archbishop’s Charter of Catholic Identity, Learning, Leadership and Mission provide the framework and guidance for Catholic school plans. Our specific school focuses have been created to align with Catholic Education Tasmania’s 2025 Achievement Framework, using parent and staff surveys, staff consultation, the school’s response to the Archbishop’s Charter as well as student data and consultation.
PBS = Positive Behaviour Support
The primary objective of PBS is to teach students appropriate positive behaviours and where needed, have strategies to improve their behaviour. The focus is to be proactive more so than reactive.
School Expectations, Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Compassionate, set the standard for what we expect to see at Larmenier Catholic School and what we value. These expectations are grounded and based on our Core values which are based in the traditions of the Sisters of Nazareth, founded by Victoire Larmenier.
PBS Matrix is used by teachers to teach students what is expected behaviour in various settings around the school.
PBS Flow Chart shows our approach and processes as well as follow up when dealing with inappropriate behaviour.
Full copies of the documents can be accessed by clicking on the links below the images.

2025 Larmenier uniform
As we transition to our new P.E uniform, we realise that the uniform will be a bit of a 'mish mash' during this time. We acknowledge that and accept it as part of playing the 'long game.'
There will be a two-year change over period where we move from our current P.E uniform to our new one. This period can be longer for anyone who needs it to be. During this time either the old or new version of the uniform can be worn.
Please find attached a copy of the updated uniform guide, which also can be found on our website.
