Our Vision, Our Mission

Our Core Values

L O V E
'Let your love for each other be real and from the heart.' 1 Peter 1:22
Love motivated the care provided to the old and the young by Victoire Larmenier. Unselfish concern for the good of others is shown through patience, kindness, trust, hope, endurance, truth and a strong affection.
From the Principal...
PBS (PBS = Positive Behaviour Support)
Our whole school acknowledgement system has been introduced to students. Students can earn tokens in the form of a sticker and keep them in their sticker booklet. When a student reaches 25 stickers, a postcard is sent home to parents in acknowledgement. When a class reaches 250 stickers as a group, this is acknowledged by having a class reward.
Students earn stickers in the playground, at assemblies, sport's carnivals etc by demonstrating our school expectations. Our school expectations – Be Respectful Be Responsible Be Compassionate are based on our core Gospel values. Specific examples of behaviours are outlined for students in our PBS Matrix (a copy can be found at the end of our newsletter).

RECYCLE REWARDS
We will be participating in Tasmania's Recycle Rewards program. We will be setting up bins at school for students and families to drop off can/plastics bottles etc for recycling and to raise money. We won't be raising money for ourselves but rather St Vincent de Pauls.
Each fortnight, Paul, our Utility Officer and Phil, our community volunteer, will take them to a recycling centre and the money will be directly donated to Vinnies. Students will then be informed at assembly that week of how much they have recycled and how much they have donated to Vinnies.
We will let you know when our bins are ready to go!
Click on the website link below if you would like to find out more about the Recycle Rewards program.

VINNIES CEO SLEEPOUT
In my role as Principal Larmenier Catholic School, I've decided take the school's commitment to supporting St Vincent de Paul's one step further by participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout! This winter I'm spending one of the longest, coldest nights on the streets to help raise money for people experiencing homelessness. Homelessness can affect anyone - women, men, and children. It has devastating consequences for individuals and families.
But you can help! Support me during the Vinnies CEO Sleepout and your donation will help the St Vincent de Paul Society empower more people to get off the streets and into stable accommodation. Vinnies provides counselling, education, health and employment services to help people to lift themselves out of the cycle of poverty. Every donation is meaningful. Together we can combat homelessness in our community. Please help me raise funds today! The impact of your generosity will be felt well beyond the 19th of June.
TELL ME MORE ABOUT.......
Parent Engagement Opportunities.
We recently held a Parent Trivia Night.........just for parents, no kids! These parent social events are a great way to get to know each other and helps to develop a real sense of community.

PARENT LINK
Parent Link is an ongoing feature of the newsletter. It is an opportunity to identify areas or features of the school that you want to know more about, ask a question or put forward suggestions. These items can then be addressed and answered in the fortnightly newsletter in the ‘Tell Me More About’ section.
This is an opportunity to have a say every day......not just in a once-a-year parent survey.
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know, as part of our PBS work (Positive Behaviour Support), we are getting new signs to go in the playground to help students know the expectations on the playground equipment and how to interact with some of the animals?

Kind regards,
Niccola Pearce

In Grade 3 this term....
In Grade 3 this term we have been working on the unit Civics and Citizenship. In this unit we have been investigating the differences between laws and rules. The students then wrote some of the rules that are in place at home, at school, in the classroom and in a sport that they play or that they enjoy watching.
The work that has been shared is by Harriet, Harry, Lacey and Grace.

WWVP
All people wishing to volunteer at school, including Farm Days, MUST have their WWVP (or alternatively known as RWVP) - this includes parents and grandparents! There is no cost for a volunteer application and you never know when you might want to put your hand up to volunteer at school so why not put in an application now so that you are ready to go when the occasion presents itself!
A reminder that when arriving at the office for Farm Days etc, you are required to present your WWVP card.
