Our Core Values

H O S P I T A L I T Y
'I was a stranger and you welcomed me.' Matt 25:37. Victoire Larmenier welcomed everyone in a spirit of friendship and acceptance. We welcome and receive all into a warm, friendly and open atmosphere.
From the Principal...
VINNIES CEO SLEEP OUT - COMPLETED!
In my role as Principal Larmenier Catholic School, I decided to take my personal commitment and the school's commitment to supporting St Vincent de Paul's one step further by participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout!
Last night I slept out in the cold on the concrete in a cardboard box as part of raising awareness about homelessness and fundraising for St Vincent de Paul to support all the amazing work they do for people in our community.
Vinnies also asked me to share my story and involvement with Vinnies with all the people in the state undertaking the CEO Sleepout via a livestream last night. I shared my experience with volunteering on the Vinnie Van every month for the past five years as well as Larmenier's participation and dedication to the Mini Vinnies program.
Going forward, I am looking forward to sharing my experience with our year 6's and we are excited to share that we have an opt in mini 'sleepout' experience planned where the yr 6's will have the opportunity to experience a little taste of what it is like to be out in the cold with minimal resources. We will have Vinnies youth worker on site and students will learn about the impact of homelessness on people as well as the services and support that Vinnies provides.
So far I have raised $1,750 for St Vincent de Paul. It's not too late to donate - click on the link below if you are able to make a donation to support the important work of Vinnies.

SPORTING EVENTS
We have had a busy few weeks with sporting events - NIJSSA Cross Country, Yr 5/6 Gala Day, All Schools Cross Country and Nthn Netball Competition and I am so proud and happy to share with you the feedback I received about the conduct of our students. Students were exceptional with their behaviour and conduct, also displaying an amazing level of sportsmanship!
TELL ME MORE ABOUT.......
Student Leadership Opportunities
Our year 5 and year 6 students have recently participated in student leadership sessions facilitated by YMCA. These sessions were learning experiences presented in a fun and engaging way. Below are details about the two modules that both classes undertook.

PARENT LINK
Parent Link is an ongoing feature of the newsletter. It is an opportunity to identify areas or features of the school that you want to know more about, ask a question or put forward suggestions. These items can then be addressed and answered in the fortnightly newsletter in the ‘Tell Me More About’ section.
This is an opportunity to have a say every day......not just in a once-a-year parent survey.
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know our new AFL / Rugby goals posts are up? They are proving to be very popular with the upper primary boys for goal kicking practice!

Did you know our new Gaga Ball Pit is now completed and is ready for students to use on Monday!

Kind regards,
Niccola Pearce

Year 6 Class News
On Friday the 13/6/2025 Grades 5 and 6 participated in our Gala Day for Term 2. We played Netball at Hoblers Bridge and Soccer at Churchill Park. The weather was great and we had lots of fun. The sportsmanship was excellent. It was great to see our students encourage and congratulate one another and bond with their teammates in the two different sports that were played. The students were appreciative of the parent helpers that helped make the fun Gala Day possible.

Recycle Rewards
We are participating and trying to make a difference…..one container at a time!
If you have containers eligible for the scheme but find it hard to get to the recycle depot, send them into school. We are donating all proceeds to St Vincent de Paul’s so you’ll be helping the environment and a local charity! It’s a win win!
HAVE YOU SENT IN ANY CONTAINERS YET?

Book Week 2025

St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal@ Larmenier
Larmenier School and the Mini Vinnies invite you to help us support the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal through donations of
- hygiene products (toiletries - see attached flyer)
- clean and well maintained warm clothes - particularly gloves, beanies, scarves, tracksuits, jumpers, jackets
- well maintained blankets and sleeping bags.
Please send any donations along to the classroom and let's help bring some warmth to those in our community who need a bit of support.
All items will be donated to SVdP in the final week of this term, so please send in any donations before Wednesday the 2nd of July.
Tasmanian Premier's Reading Challenge
The Challenge will run for 10 weeks from the 16th June until the 24th August.
All students from Kinder to Year 6 are invited to participate. Participation is not compulsory.
Students can include home readers, books read to them at home, magazines, eBooks etc., as well as any books that they read themselves.
A Reading Log, bookmark and stickers will be sent home with all students this week.
Emergency Drill Notice
In the coming weeks, we will conduct an unannounced emergency drill to assess our response to a potential situation where staff may identify a threat that would require the school to go into lockdown, as opposed to evacuating.
Just like fire drills, we understand the importance of practicing this process to ensure readiness in case of an emergency.
We are taking steps to ensure that this drill will be as minimally disruptive as possible for both staff and students.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Safety Officer, Kirsten Seymour, at 0447480963.

WWVP Reminder
WWVP
All people wishing to volunteer at school, including Farm Days, MUST have their WWVP (or alternatively known as RWVP) - this includes parents and grandparents! There is no cost for a volunteer application and you never know when you might want to put your hand up to volunteer at school so why not put in an application now so that you are ready to go when the occasion presents itself!
A reminder that when arriving at the office for Farm Days etc, you are required to present your WWVP card.
