Our Vision, Our Mission

Our Core Values

L O V E
'Let your love for each other be real and from the heart.' 1 Peter 1:22. Love motivated the care provided to the old and the young by Victoire Larmenier. Unselfish concern for the good of others is shown through patience, kindness, trust, hope, endurance, truth and a strong affection.
From the Principal...
REPORTS AND PARENT / TEACHER MEETINGS
Reports were published in Compass on Wednesday afternoon. Hopefully, you've had the chance to look at it with your child and use it as a conversation starter about your child's learning and progress. It is also a good starting point for discussing goals for next term.
Reports are a summative assessment, which means a professional judgement has been made by your child's teachers based on a set of criteria against the Australian Curriculum. In your child's Seesaw profile, you can find work samples that show your child's standard of work.
Formal Parent / Teacher meetings take place in week 9 of term 3; however, please contact your child's teacher if you would like to discuss any aspect of your child's education more informally before then.
VINNIES CEO SLEEPOUT FOLLOW-UP
I visited each classroom this week to share with students my experience with the Vinnies Sleepout and to share information about homelessness in general but also in Launceston. I also shared the important work that Vinnies does in supporting homeless people as well as people in need. I brought to students' attention the part they play in helping Vinnies by participating in Mini Vinnie fundraising opportunities at school.
Below are some reflections from students about this.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT.......
Extra Curricular Opportunities
Speech & Drama Club is for students in Years 1 to 6 and it is every Tuesday after school. Due to popular demand we are increasing our finishing time to 4.00 pm; however, any parent that would like to continue with the 3.30 pm pick up can do so.
This term our focus is Story Dance, which is storytelling through dance - the art of using movement, gestures and body language to convey a narrative and incorporates music.
We look forward to welcoming new students to Speech & Drama Club this term.

PARENT LINK
Parent Link is an ongoing feature of the newsletter. It is an opportunity to identify areas or features of the school that you want to know more about, ask a question or put forward suggestions. These items can then be addressed and answered in the fortnightly newsletter in the ‘Tell Me More About’ section.
This is an opportunity to have a say every day......not just in a once-a-year parent survey.

Did you know we have a Larmenier School Advisory Board? Introducing four of our Board members -

In Grade 4 this week .......
Grade 4 spent some time this week tapping into their artistic skills, creating numerous pieces of incredible art to brighten our room.
Due to so many being absent, we took the opportunity to be creative.
We have also been working on the 'tightening tension' part of our Narrative writing. Some inspirational juices have been flowing and writing is becoming more interesting to the reader.

Comfy Clothes Day + Vinnies Winter Appeal
It was Comfy Clothes day at Larmenier today as part of our Vinnies Winter Appeal. Students and staff wore comfy clothes and donated essential emergency relief items for Vinnies to use as part of their support for people suffering from homelessness or just doing it tough.

WWVP Reminder
WWVP
All people wishing to volunteer at school, including Farm Days, MUST have their WWVP (or alternatively known as RWVP) - this includes parents and grandparents! There is no cost for a volunteer application and you never know when you might want to put your hand up to volunteer at school so why not put in an application now so that you are ready to go when the occasion presents itself!
A reminder that when arriving at the office for Farm Days etc, you are required to present your WWVP card.
