Our Vision, Our Mission

Our Core Values

P A T I E N C E
Blessed are the gentle for they shall possess the earth. (Matt 5:5)
Victoire Larmenier was an example of patience to all who knew her. She encountered and overcame amazing difficulties. In all circumstances, we persevere calmly with understanding and endurance.
From the Principal...
CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK
Last week was Catholic Education Week. Our Year 6's attended Mass with students from the other Catholic Schools in Launceston and they also attended the Shroud of Turin exhibition in the afternoon. Their behaviour at both events was outstanding. They were very respectful and reverent during the mass as well as during interactions with speakers at the exhibition.
Archbishop Porteous visited the year 5 class for a Q and A session, and the students' conduct was exemplary! They showed the most beautiful manners and asked pertinent and reflective questions. They were very respectful and reverent in their interactions with His Grace.

INSTALLATION OF ARCHBISHOP TONY IRELAND
I had the privilege and honour of not only attending the installation in Hobart of our new Archbishop, Archbishop Tony Ireland but also being presented to him as part of the Mass as a representative of the Launceston Catholic Parish. It was a beautiful Mass, and Archbishop Tony's Homily certainly gives us hope for the future of Catholics and Catholic Education in Tasmania.
“A new chapter begins today, and I do not walk it alone. Pope Francis has called this a Jubilee of Hope. Let us walk together as pilgrims of hope—bearing light, binding wounds, and lifting each other up in mercy.'
Archbishop Tony Ireland

ABSENCE
I will be away this coming week (week 5) for a work conference along with the Principals from the Catholic Schools in Tasmania. I will be checking my emails, but all non-urgent matters will be attended to when I am back at work. All urgent matters are to be directed to Alison Vogelaar, Deputy Principal. alison.vogelaar@catholic.tas.edu.au

A parental note is required if students are not wearing the appropriate uniform on any given day.

WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND THE PLACE?

TELL ME MORE ABOUT.......
UR STRONG PROGRAM
URSTRONG is an internationally recognised program focused on teaching friendship skills to children in schools. It aims to empower students with the tools and language to build and maintain healthy relationships, manage conflict, and navigate social situations with confidence and kindness. The program emphasises a whole-school approach, creating a common language of friendship among students and teachers.
Phrases you might hear your child or staff say are 'It's a friendship fire' or 'They were mean on purpose.' Click on the link below to find out more about this.

PARENT LINK
Parent Link is an ongoing feature of the newsletter. It is an opportunity to identify areas or features of the school that you want to know more about, ask a question or put forward suggestions. These items can then be addressed and answered in the fortnightly newsletter in the ‘Tell Me More About’ section.
This is an opportunity to have a say every day......not just in a once-a-year parent survey.

Did you know we will be attending the Beauty and the Beast Jnr performance presented by Encore Theatre?
Yrs 3 to 6 will attend on Tuesday 28 October at 11am and Prep to Yr 2 will attend on Wednesday 29 October at 11am.

All people wishing to volunteer at school, including Farm Days, MUST have their WWVP (or alternatively known as RWVP) - this includes parents and grandparents! There is no cost for a volunteer application and you never know when you might want to put your hand up to volunteer at school so why not put in an application now so that you are ready to go when the occasion presents itself!
A reminder that when arriving at the office for Farm Days etc, you are required to present your WWVP card.
