Our Vision, Our Mission

Our Core Values

J U S T I C E

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice for they shall be satisfied. (Matt 5:6)

Victoire Larmenier was fair and impartial with everyone, even when people or issues were difficult or challenging. We uphold what is fair and decent, respecting the rights of others in a balanced and fair manner.

From the Principal...

PARENT / TEACHER MEETINGS

Why Parent–Teacher Meetings Matter

Parent–teacher meetings are a great chance to connect and share how your child is going at school. They give you time to hear about your child’s learning, celebrate their achievements, and talk about ways we can work together to support them.

It’s also a chance for you to share what you see at home—because you know your child best! When parents and teachers work as a team, children feel supported and confident, both in the classroom and beyond.

PARISH PRIEST - FR DAMIEN

We are so very blessed to have Fr Damien as our Parish Priest. Fr Damien is very involved with the school and an active member of our school community. He is at school every week on Fridays. Fr Damien has class Masses each week with a different class and he then participates in our Farm Day program in the afternoon. Below is one of the focuses he has been working on with classes - showing students how to grow carrots from carrot tops in old milk containers. It is something students can take on in their own homes!

WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND THE PLACE?

  • REMEMBRANCE GARDEN

We are getting closer to having the 'revamp' of our Remembrance Garden completed. We have the new flag poles and flags, we have the new seating space, we have the new fence, we have the new Peace Pole and below is the new signage for the area.

    TELL ME MORE ABOUT.......

    WELLBEING IN CHILDREN

Building resilience is a key part of wellbeing.

Resilience is the ability to “bounce back” from challenges—and it’s an important part of your child’s wellbeing. Resilient children cope better with setbacks, manage big feelings, and face new challenges with confidence.

    How parents can help:

    • Listen and let your child share their feelings.
    • Praise effort and persistence, not just results.
    • Share your own stories of overcoming challenges.
    • Remind them mistakes are part of learning.
    • Support healthy routines like sleep, play, and rest.

    PARENT LINK

Parent Link is an ongoing feature of the newsletter. It is an opportunity to identify areas or features of the school that you want to know more about, ask a question or put forward suggestions. These items can then be addressed and answered in the fortnightly newsletter in the ‘Tell Me More About’ section.

This is an opportunity to have a say every day......not just in a once-a-year parent survey.

    Parent Link

    DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that our teachers do peer coaching? This involves teachers observing each other's lessons and providing feedback on their teaching practice. Teachers do this three times a term! They are continually refining and sharpening their skills.

    Kind regards,

    Niccola Pearce

    PRINCIPAL

    Dates to Remember ...

    SEPTEMBER

    • 18th September - Kinder - Year 2 Athletics Carnival
    • 22nd September - Year 3 - 6 Athletics Carnival
    • 25th September - Year 4 Camp
    • 26th September - Last day of term

Term 3 Overview - Farm Day & Assemblies

SETUP FOR SUCCESS - BIRTH TO 5 PROGRAM

Every Wednesday from 9:00 am - 10:30 am in the Kinder classroom.

Bring a drink and a healthy snack.

    Everyone welcome!

In Year 3 this week .......

Grade 3 have been learning about symmetry.

We looked at the symmetry of 3D shapes and then explored symmetry in nature.

We then completed an art activity using symmetry.

The art work has been composed by Harry, Sophie, Alexis and Brianna.

    Wanted - Uniform donations

Do you have any second hand school uniform items that you no longer want or need?

If so, we would love to have them donated for spare uniforms for our students for when accidents arise or to pass onto families doing it tough at the moment.

    School hats

School hats must be worn from Term 3 Week 9 (15th September onwards).

Hats can be purchased from Midfords on Charles Street, Launceston.

    Practice lockdown

In the coming weeks, we will conduct an unannounced emergency drill to assess our response to a potential situation where staff may identify a threat that would require the school to go into lockdown, as opposed to evacuating.

Just like fire drills, we understand the importance of practising this process to ensure readiness in case of an emergency.

We are taking steps to ensure that this drill will be as minimally disruptive as possible for both staff and students.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Safety Officer, Kirsten Seymour, at 0447480963.

All people wishing to volunteer at school, including Farm Days, MUST have their WWVP (or alternatively known as RWVP) - this includes parents and grandparents! There is no cost for a volunteer application and you never know when you might want to put your hand up to volunteer at school so why not put in an application now so that you are ready to go when the occasion presents itself!
