Principal's Message
Staffing - Farm Day Teacher
Our recruitment process has now finished and we had some great applicants. It was wonderful to see the passionate people interested in our Farm Day teacher role.
Our successful applicant is Heidi DeNardo. She comes to us with experience with and knowledge of working with animals, gardening, sustainability and permaculture. She currently works part-time at Launceston Christian School teaching Food/Textiles and Digital Technology. Heidi started with the year sixes today for their Farm Day. Please join me in welcoming Heid to the Larmenier community.
Access Road
A reminder that the access road into Mount Esk and Larmenier has a speed limit of 10 klms. Travelling at 10 klms provides the driver with enough time to stop if a student or Mount Esk resident has wandered onto the road. There are also speed humps to help with maintaining the speed limit. Please help keep our students and elderly residents safe by adhering to the 10 klm speed limit.
Upcoming Event - Cross Country
We have our Cross Country taking place this coming Tuesday. Communication has already been sent out to parents and we warmly welcome parents to this event. We will have the Urban Coffee van onsite for visitors to purchase a coffee!
Mother's Day Breakfast
We had our Mother's Day Breakfast last Monday and it was great to have so many people attend. It is just a small gesture that we as a school can do as a way of thanking and celebrating the mothers, grandmothers and carers in our lives. We hope everyone enjoyed the hot egg, bacon and cheese rolls.
Kinder Enrolment Interviews
I have been busy conducting Kinder Enrolment Interviews over the past weeks. It has been lovely to share with people the wonderful and unique features of Larmenier. Of course the farm features in the discussions as well as the educational opportunities but I always enjoy sharing how inclusive, supportive and welcoming Larmenier is - from the students to the staff to the parents. Feedback from prospective parents, when asked why they want to come to Larmenier, has overwhelmingly been due to word of mouth. They hear great things from their friends and families about Larmenier. It is a great affirmation for the Larmenier school community!
Kind regards,
Niccola Pearce

John Madin Workshop
On the 3rd May grades 2 to 6 had an instrumental workshop. There were some really weird instruments, like an instrument maade out of a bike. Even a cello made out of mostly wood.
There were some instruments that weren't weird at all, like a marimba. There was also these boxes that you to step on to make music. Our grade 5 class performed two songs called the Seven C's and Heart and Soul. I went on the bike with these little keys that you press to make noise. Some people went on these drums that looked like a small barrel. I also played on the marimba that didn't make a lot of nose but sounded really nice. I didn't go on the music boxes but when I listened it sounded so good.
At the concert listening to all the other grades was amazing. I think my favourite performance was grade 4, they played and sang 'We Will Rock You'. During the other performancees the school was joining in, clapping and singing along.
Overall, today was a really fun day and we are all very grateful for this awesome day.
