Bon Voyage Lockett Sensei
At the end of last year Lockett Sensei applied for a Grant which is a six-week program in Urawa, Saitama, Japan that is designed to provide an opportunity for improving Japanese language skills necessary as a teacher.
We are happy to announce that she was one of 31 teachers from around the world who received this grant.
So from the 6th of June until the 22nd of July Lockett Sensei will be studying Japanese language in the morning and Cultural Studies in the afternoons. She will be touring schools and bringing back many cultural experiences to share with the students and to enrich their language learning.
We look forward to following her journey on this amazing experience.
Congratulations Lockett Sensei!
Grade 4 HASS
As part of our HASS (Humanities & Social Sciences) unit Grade 4 looked at the significance of ANZAC Day. We looked at the traditions that are celebrated each year and the importance of continuing these traditions. The students were exposed to the life of a soldier a part of their assessment was to write a letter home pretending they were the soldier. We then completed a directed drawing task of a soldier.
Musical Instruments
Grade 2 made their own musical instruments!
