Principal's Message
School Gospel Value - Hospitality
Victoire Larmenier welcomed everyone in a spirit of friendship and acceptance.
I was a stranger and you welcomed me. (Matt 25:37)
We welcome and receive all into a warm friendly and open atmosphere.
Principal’s Award
These awards are given out each fortnight at assembly and are based on the school's Gospel values. The recipients are invited to a special Principal’s Morning Tea held at the end of each month. Last week our recipients of the Principal’s Award were
Charlotte Jarrett - For always going out of her way to support anyone who is upset, hurt or unsure of what to do in the classroom and in the playground.
Arlia Quach - For stopping to show care and compassion to someone who was hurt
Alex Schrepfer - For being proactive in assisting students with sorting through a problem
Reports and Parent/Teacher Interviews
Reports were published in Compass on Wednesday. It is a summary report providing a snapshot of your child’s progress and learning achievements. More information about your child’s strengths and growth opportunities can be found in their Seesaw digital portfolio. There are pieces of their work there that you can look at and discuss with your child. We will have Parent/Teacher conferences in Term 3 and these will be scheduled towards the end of Term 3 as it then provides an opportunity to discuss the learning and progress that has occurred since the report and over the course of the term.
P & F - Family Mystery Movie Night
It was great to have so many families attend the Family Mystery Movie Night. Students took great delight in coming to school, at nighttime, and wearing their Oodies and PJs! A big thank you to our wonderful P and F members who organised and ran the night. These events can not happen without parental support. It would be great to have some additional parents offer to help out the P and F at our school events. It would just be a case of helping out for perhaps 30 mins or so and as we all know ‘many hands make light work.’ If you would like to help out at our next school event please email the P and F on pandf.lcs@catholic.tas.edu.au. No formal commitment is required, just an expression of interest in helping out.
Staffing
The recruitment process has come to a completion and I am happy to announce the following staffing additions to the Larmenier Team -
- X1 Maternity leave position (0.2) replacing Jessie Van Spall: Stephanie Castillo
- X1 Maternity leave position (0.6) replacing Lauren Tams: Ellie Burley
- X1 Limited Tenure: Leave Replacement (0.2) replacing Kate Roach: Lauren Spencer
Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday period with your children.
Kind regards
Niccola Pearce
Principal

What's happening in Grade 4?
Grade Four have been learning about NAIDOC Week. NAIDOC week is celebrated the first week in July every year. It is a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We have been learning about First Nations cultures. We have looked at how Art was a big part of Aboriginal life. We created some of our own symbolic Art work.
National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
