Year 4 Camp
I had the privilege of participating in year 4 camp on Thursday and Friday with Ms. Donald and Mrs. Carroll. The students are a great bunch and it was enjoyable to be able to spend this time with them. They showed care and consideration to each other and were inclusive in everything they did. They encouraged each other and helped people with activities they were finding challenging. It was lovely to see different friendships and friendship groups forming. As with any camp, there is lots of time and effort put in by staff as well as time taken from their own families. Thank you to Ms. Donald and Mrs. Carroll for the year 4 camp. Also, thank you to Mrs. Knowles, Mrs. Binns, Mrs. Colegrave and Mrs. Vogelaar for the year 3 camp which was last week.
Drop&Go / Pick up&Go
Student safety is a top priority. We have had our Catholic Education Tasmania WHS Officer observe our drop-off and pick-up processes. From this, there have been some recommendations made to make it safer for students. For the processes to have an impact, we need your help! Please see the below information regarding parent pick up and drop off, and make every effort to follow them.
School Disco
Our disco is next Friday! There is lots of chatter amongst the students so we are hoping to see lots of people being able to attend. We will have tables and chairs set up so parents can sit and socialise whilst their children are busy dancing to DJ Dan. There are snacks and drinks available but families are also encouraged to BYO food and drinks to have at the tables with other families.
Parent Help
It is great that we are able to have many more parents helping out and participating in Farm Days this year. We love having parents involved in our school and in our learning. We have our athletics carnival coming up early in term 4 ( 25th October) and again, would love to have parents helping out with running events as well as coming along to watch. Please keep an eye out for communication from our P.E. teacher, Miss Spencer, about how to help.
If helping out at events or Farm Days is not your thing but you would like to contribute in some other way, please contact me and we can look at other opportunities that might suit you.
Kind regards,
Niccola Pearce
Principal

Hats
It's that time of year when students need to bring hats to school and wear them at break times. Please ensure your child is bringing their hat to school. We have some leftover hats in stock which can be purchased from the office for $10, or alternatively, hats can be purchased from Midfords in Charles Street.
Next week is - no hat, no outdoor play!
Cooking with Kinder!
Kinder spent some time outdoors cooking in the Mud Kitchen. If anyone would like any of their recipes, please contact Mrs de Wit!
Achievement in Sport
In February Matilda Badcock & Logan Brimfield were selected to represent the Launceston Basketball Association in the U14s Launceston Lightning, Tasmanian Junior Jack Jumper League (TJJJL) for 2023.
The season has come to an end and on Sunday 17th September both players competed in the TJJJL Grand Final for their Shield Division Launceston Lightning Teams both Matilda and Logan’s teams taking home 1st place - Champions.
Logan’s Team U14 Boys Shield, finished 1st on the ladder and have gone undefeated all season and the team effort was evident with the Grand Final win on Sunday.
Matilda’s Team U14 Girls Shield finished 2nd on the ladder and had not won against their rival Devonport all season, until the Grand Final winning by 27 points.
Congratulations on this achievement Matilda and Logan, all your hard work and training has paid off – you should be very proud of your efforts.
