2024 Annual Priorities
Based on feedback from parents and staff, and working within our Strategic Direction Goals 2022 - 2024, we set our 2024 Annual Priorities at the end of last year. We have already begun working on our priorities for this year and look forward to sharing our progress throughout the year.
Please click on the link below to view.
Kinder 2025 Enrolments
We already have quite a number of expressions of interest for Kinder 2025! I will be beginning Kinder enrolment interviews earlier this year due to the expected number of interviews. I will be starting interviews in the last half of this term.
All current families wanting to enrol a child in Kinder next year must also book a Kinder enrolment interview. Please send through your Kinder enrolment form and the office will be in touch to book in an interview.
Beginning of Year Mass
We have our Beginning of Year Mass next Friday 1st March 9.30 am at St Peter's Church, Youngtown. All parents and carers are invited, particularly year 6 parents as we will be presenting our year 6 leaders with their leadership badges.
Did you know that you don't have to be Catholic to come to Mass with us? Did you know that even if you are not sure what to do in the Mass you can follow along and join in by watching what the students and staff do? 'Come as you are' and all are welcome.
Timetable changes
Our assembly is now on Friday afternoons each fortnight at 2.20 pm in the Nazareth Centre and alternates with Buddy Classes. Farm Day is also still on Friday and those students timetable for Farm Day don't attend assembly that week so no 'Farm Day Time' is lost. Parents and Carers are invited to assembly. Sometimes things change at the last minute but even if they do you are welcome to join us for whatever is taking place.
Assembly is next week on Friday 1st March at 2.20 pm. Year 4 will share some work and we will announce the winning house for the Swimming Carnival.
Year 6 Camp
The feedback from staff and students was that it was a great camp! So many activities for students to have a go at and develop resilience, persistence and team skills. It is so lovely to hear comments from staff saying 'kids are brilliant' and 'they're a great group of kids, very encouraging and positive.'A big thanks to Mr Smith for organising and running the camp, to Miss Hughes and Mrs Symons who attended and helped out. A camp is not only an incredible amount of work to plan and implement but it also takes teachers away from their own families and friends. We are incredibly grateful to these teachers for their time and dedication.
Gifted and Talented Program
The One Day School program ended at the end of 2023. There is a statewide program that is being run in its place but as there is a cost associated with it and due to its restrictive time frame we are not pursing this as an option. However, there will be an extended learning opportunity offered by the school within the classroom setting and available to a wider range of students.
What's happening next week?
Well, we have three big events next week and you are invited to all of them! How many will you make it to?
Wednesday - Meet & Greet BBQ 5.00 - 7.00 pm at school. See the below flyer.
Thursday - Yr 3 to 6 Swimming Carnival 9.30 - 1.30 pm at Riverside Aquatic.
Friday - Whole school Mass. 9.30 am at St Peter's Church, Youngtown.
Kind regards,
Niccola Pearce

Parent Help / Volunteers
A reminder that every volunteer that comes in to the school must have a Working With Vulnerable People card. Each time you come in to volunteer, the card needs to be shown at the office, and the details recorded on your first visit. The Child Safety Briefing forms also need to be read and signed on your first visit, even if you signed them last year. You can download and read these in anticipation of your visit or drop them in to the office at any time.
Meet & Greet BBQ
Farm Update ...
We are looking for donations of old towels/blankets/baby rugs for the baby goats that are due any day now. Thank you to Scott & Fiona at Autons Ag for the donation of lucernehay to feed our expecting mumma goats.
New hens have arrived. Eggs will available at the office in a week or so, when we start to get a steady supply. We ask for a donation of $5 per dozen.
Sadly, we lost one of our Guinea Pigs, Snowflake, recently. That leaves Shadow on his own and we are looking for a male companion to keep him company.
Goats - so far we have had 4 baby goats born. The kids and their mothers are going well. We hope to have some more babies and some photos to share next week.
