School Gospel Value - Hospitality
Victoire Larmenier welcomed everyone in a spirit of friendship and acceptance.
I was a stranger and you welcomed me. (Matt 25:37)
We welcome and receive all into a warm friendly and open atmosphere.
ANZAC DAY MARCH
Larmenier Catholic School will be marching in the ANZAC Day march on 25th April and attending the service that follows. Whilst ANZAC Day occurs during the school holidays, we would like to have as many students representing Larmenier as possible.
The Launceston RSL encourages those students that have Service Medals or Replicas, of their Veteran Relatives, to wear them on ANZAC Day. These medals must be worn on the right breast.
We will gather at Coles' car park in Charles Street at 9.30 am before heading to Prince's Square at 9.45 am to get ready for the march. At the conclusion of the service, approx 11.30 am, students can be collected from the cenotaph in Paterson St.
Please click on the link below to indicate if your child/ren will be participating in the ANZAC Day march. Students in K-2 wear sports uniform and students in yrs 3 - 6 wear formal winter uniform.
P&F MEET AND GREET
The P and F are extending an invitation to all parents to gather at the St Leonards Pub on 10th April at 6 pm.
It is a great way to meet other parents and to see what the P and F are hoping to achieve this year. I’ll be there and hope to see you there.
TELL ME MORE ABOUT….STUDENT CLUBS AND WELLBEING INITIATIVES
STUDENT CLUBS
We have a couple of student-let clubs starting up in term 2 - Garden Club, Animal Club and Fix-It Club. More information about these clubs will come from the Student Club Co-Ordinators in the first newsletter of term 2. If your child is interested in starting up a student club please have them come and see me to discuss it.
WELLBEING INITIATIVES
URSTRONG is one of our wellbeing initiatives this year. UR STRONG is all about empowering kids with friendship skills and skills to navigate tricky social situations! This term Mr King has started introducing the UR Strong program to P - 6 students in their health lessons. Classroom teachers are also utilising the content to consolidate students’ learning as well as using it when assisting students when dealing with Friendship Fires and Mean-On-Purpose behaviours.
What is the difference between a Friendship Fire and being Mean-On-Purpose?
Friendship Fire: Any situation between you and a friend that results in negative feelings.
Mean-On-Purpose: When someone is intentionally unkind to someone else.
Depending on what year level your child is in and what lesson they are up to, they may or may not have covered the above content yet.
PARENT LINK
Parent Link is an ongoing feature of the newsletter. It is an opportunity to identify areas or features of the school that you want to know more about, ask a question or put forward suggestions. These items can then be addressed and answered in the fortnightly newsletter in the ‘Tell Me More About’ section (as above).

P & F Meet and Greet
In Grade 4 this week ...
Grade 4 have been working on what makes a good friend. We talked about what it takes to be a good friend, what we want in a friend and how we can be a good friend. We related this to the book the Rainbow fish and also looked at our special qualities that is unique to only ourselves. We then completed an art activity of how we are a friend and what we want our friend to be. Here are our stunning results.

TCSPC - School Uniform Survey
The TCSPC, Tasmanian Catholic School Parents Council, recognises the financial costs to Catholic School families when purchasing uniform items for their children each year. We are also aware of the different policies in regards to Uniform in Schools and Colleges across Tasmania. There is also a practical aspect to uniforms that students are required to wear. We invite Parents and Carers to complete a survey on the uniform requirements at your school. Feedback will be collated and shared with Catholic Education Tasmania, and then with the wider Catholic School community, including parents. If you have more than one child, and they attend different schools, we ask that your feedback is based on one school at a time; ie the survey can be completed more than once. The Survey is supported by Catholic Education Tasmania, and the Executive Director, Dr Gerard Gaskin. The Survey will remain open until 4 May 2024. Please click on the link below to complete the survey.
Please find below a copy of the TCSPC April Newsletter.
