School Gospel Value - Justice
Victoire Larmenier was fair and impartial with everyone, even when people or issues were difficult or challenging.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice for they shall be satisfied. (Matt 5:6)
We uphold what is fair, decent, respecting his/her rights in a balanced and fair manner.
STUDENT CLUBS
The students are very keen to start up and participate in the range of clubs that are potentially going to be offered. Some of the clubs that are being proposed are Loom Band Club, Dance Club, Chess Club, Health Club, Animal Club and Basketball Club. Once details are finalised then the co-ordinator will make a poster. We are installing an outdoor display cabinet next to Breakfast Club and all the Student Club posters will be displayed in there for students to view. Garden Club is already underway. You can see below, Saige and Quinn busy watering our indoor plants!
NEW PROJECTS
We are eagerly awaiting to hear news about funding for some new projects. We are looking to put in a new piece of equipment in the playground and build Elmo a new house…..one that we can walk into!
SRC - STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL
Our SRC finally received their badges today. The SRC group will have some important jobs to do this term with keeping their peers updated on our new projects as well as raising ideas and concerns from the student body.
SCHOOL PHOTOS
School photos are on Tuesday 7th May. Students in years 3 - 6 are to wear their formal winter uniform, including blazer and tie. K - 2 wear their sports uniform and will have their photo taken in their sports shirt, not the rugby top. Please ensure students are well groomed on the day. It is not necessary for students to be applying make-up or wearing jewellery other than simple studs or sleepers.
For ease of having formal uniforms clean for Tuesday, students can wear sports uniform on Monday (the day before photos).
P&F AGM
We have our P and F AGM coming up. It is next Wednesday 8th May at 7 pm at school in the Meeting Room (just come to the front office and we can guide you from there).
All are welcome! You don’t need to sign up for a job but just be part of a great group of parents who have the students and the school community’s best interests at heart. We will have drinks and nibblies available.
TELL ME MORE ABOUT….WELLBEING INITIATIVES
Student Wellbeing Officer
We have finalised our recruitment process and Renee Carroll-Egge has been the successful applicant. Renee is a current staff member and will be working on Thursday and Friday in her capacity as Student Wellbeing Officer. She will work closely with the Leadership Team and Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Leader, Jacinta Verbeeten.
Buddy Classes and Mt Esk Residents
We are expanding our Buddy Program to include residents from Mt Esk. Our students will be allocated a Buddy from Mt Esk. The students will make cards and artwork for their Mt Esk Buddies and will also be heading over to the Aged Care facility to visit them. Mrs Verbeeten sent out communication to parents about this earlier in the week.
Friends of Mt Esk Student Club
We are also establishing a Student Club for students who would like to visit Mt Esk residents during their break time. These students will be visiting with residents and undertaking activities such as board games with them.
PARENT LINK
Parent Link is an ongoing feature of the newsletter. It is an opportunity to identify areas or features of the school that you want to know more about, ask a question or put forward suggestions. These items can then be addressed and answered in the fortnightly newsletter in the ‘Tell Me More About’ section (as above).
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that you are more than welcome to join us for our assembly each fortnight? We have an assembly every second Friday, in the odd-numbered weeks of term (e.g. week 1,3,5,7 etc) 2.20 - 2.50 pm in the Nazareth Centre. You are invited and most welcome to join us!
Kind regards,
Niccola Pearce

Pick Up, Parking and Patience - Reminder
Pick Up - students may only be picked up from the front of the school via our Pick Up Zone or the school car park (at front of school). We have had some Kinder parents driving around the back of the school and Mt Esk. This is not a designated pick up /drop off area and is not a designated space for students.
Parking - Parking is only permitted at the Larmenier car park which are the three rows of car spots that run parallel to our Pick Up Zone. Parking IS NOT PERMITTED in Mt Esk car park or on the grass. This is Mt Esk property.
Patience - We ask for patience during Pick Up and Drop Off periods. We have 229 students that need to be safely dropped off and picked up. Safety is our top priority during these times not speed. Sometimes this means that Drop Off or Pick Up may take a little longer than expected. Please pass these messages onto Grandparents and others who are doing Drop Off and Pick Up as we are finding they are not aware of school processes in this area.
