School Gospel Value - Compassion
Victoire Larmenier showed compassion by seeking to relieve the suffering of those with whom she came in contact.
Be compassionate as your heavenly Father is compassionate. (Luke 6:36)
Being open and attentive to the whole person, spiritually, physically and emotionally, we show empathy for the suffering of others and try to relieve that suffering.
BAPTISM
We had three students be baptised last weekend and I, along with a number of staff, were blessed to be present for their Baptism. If you are interested in exploring having your child/ren baptised please contact me or Anita Cunningham (Instructional Leader Religious Education) and we can help facilitate the process.
CHOIR PERFORMANCE
Our choir today, under the direction of the amazing Choir Director Mrs Rice, performed for all the principals from the Catholic schools across the state. They sang beautifully and many people commented on their performance. Head to our FaceBook page to view a video of one of their performances from today. The choir will participate in the Launceston Competitions on Monday and we look forward to no doubt hearing accolades from the judge about their performance, the harmonies and technical elements of the pieces they sing.
UPCOMING PROJECTS
Exciting news! Formal approval has been received from CET for the following projects - a new piece of playground equipment (climbing frame), walk -in bird aviary for Elmo the parrot, new fencing for one goat paddock, farm enhancement project (expanding Hugh & Charlie’s enclosure) and new branding/signage. It may take some time before we see these projects actually materialise as updated quotes are needed, availability of materials and labour times will vary and other processes or projects that need to be completed first.
LARMENIER FEAST DAY
Larmenier Feast Day is to be celebrated on the closest day to the anniversary of Victoire Larmenier’s death which is the 16th June so this year we will celebrate it on the 17th June. The focus of day is to learn about values of Sisters of Nazareth and about Victoire Larmenier as well as celebrate everything that we are know for and value here at Larmenier.
CROSS COUNTRY
We held our Cross Country on Tuesday and it was a great afternoon. We thank the parents who gave up their time to assist with the running of the event. We also thank the parents and grandparents who took the time to come and be present for the event. The winning House was GUILFORD!
The final scores are below -
D'Arcy 244
Guilford 378
Upton 264
S-GROUP BRANDING CONCEPTS
We engaged the services of S-Group last year to develop branding concepts for Larmenier to be used for digital assets, uniform, branding and signage. This is a significant process and began last year with utilising the material from our Place Maker sessions which included parents, students and staff. We have had another collaborative session this year with some members of staff and student leadership. So far, the process has provided some valuable insight about what we value here at Larmenier and also possible options and visions for the future.
OUTDOOR WOOD FIRE PIZZA OVEN
We have just installed an Outdoor Wood Fire Pizza Oven! The pizza oven is located between our veggie garden and undercover area. So it is in an ideal location as it will be used for Farm Days and school events. We still have some work to do before we can use it but can’t wait to fire it up!
