Carlo Acutis Exhibition
Some of our students from Gr 3-6 recently visited the Carlo Acutis Exhibition as part of their learning about the Sacraments. They heard about his life as a young boy in Italy, and his devotion to the Eucharist and to Mary. They were pretty impressed by his exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles, which he compiled between the age of 10 and his death at 15. The exhibition is open this weekend at the Church of St Francis Hall in Riverside, from 10am - 4pm if you would like to visit it.
Father's Day Breakfast
We will be holding our breakfast for our dad's, and all the special men in our lives, on Thursday 29th August @ 8am. Please RSVP before Thursday 22nd August.
All welcome!
Book Week 2024 - Reading is Magic
This year we are excited to share the 'Magic of Reading' with our school community. Following is some information about activities that have been planned.
All classes have been invited to decorate their rooms in the theme of their favourite book, one of the shortlisted books, or a book that fits in with the theme of 'Reading is Magic'.
We are holding a competition for students, 'Reading in Unusual Places' as per the attached flyer. We look forward to receiving some imaginative entries.
We will have an afternoon where parents/carers will be invited into the school to share stories with their children.
Guest readers will be invited to share stories during library lessons.
Reading in Unusual Places
Some of our staff members have been found reading in some unusual places lately ...
Door Decorations
Each room was invited to decorate their door in the theme of 'magic'.
Some of the books used as door themes are:
- Matilda
- Harry Potter
- Possum Magic
- Keith, the Cat with the Magic Hat
- The Magician's Hat
- The Magic School Bus
Have a look around the school and see if you can guess which door is which!
Book Week Competition
You have until Friday 23rd of August to get your photo in - email to lcs.library@catholic.tas.edu.au
The best photo will win a prize!
