From the Principal...
School Gospel Value - Compassion
Victoire Larmenier showed compassion by seeking to relieve the suffering of those with whom she came in contact.
Be compassionate as your heavenly Father is compassionate. (Luke 6:36)
Being open and attentive to the whole person, spiritually, physically and emotionally, we show empathy for the suffering of others and try to relieve that suffering.
AT LARMENIER CATHOLIC SCHOOL WE ARE CALLED TO BE COMPASSIONATE.
Victoire Larmenier is the founder of the Sisters of Nazareth who founded Larmenier Catholic School. Her teachings and legacy reflect a deep emphasis on compassion, especially in serving the elderly and the vulnerable.
While there are no specific quotes directly attributed to her on compassion in widely available texts, her actions and the mission of the congregation she founded demonstrate her perspective. She believed in:
Loving Service: Her life's work was dedicated to offering care, dignity, and comfort to those who were often overlooked or neglected in society. This approach was grounded in seeing Christ in every person.
Empathy in Action: Victoire Larmenier emphasised understanding and sharing in the suffering of others, not just as an emotional experience but as a call to practical and selfless action.
Compassion as a Core Virtue: Her congregational rule highlighted virtues like humility, gentleness, and charity, all of which are expressions of compassion.
So the question for all of us is how can we show compassion to others in our school community every day, and authentically and genuinely?
CAROLS ON THE OVAL
The inaugural Carols On The Oval school community event is coming up. We are excited to provide this new community event and hope that the weather is kind to us.
All students are expected to attend and all families are invited to attend. BYO picnic blanket, food and drink.
Each class is presenting two Christmas songs, we also have the choir performing as well as a staff item. We will finish the evening with a crowd favourite and sing-a-long opportunity, Jungle Bells, and if we sing loud enough Santa Claus may just turn up for a quick visit!
TELL ME MORE ABOUT…
Leadership opportunities for students.
We are continuing to introduce opportunities for our school leaders to develop and enhance their leadership knowledge and skills. Next year we are sending our school captain teams (school, house, farm and choir) to the annual GRIP Student Leadership Conference. Click on the brochure to read more about this exciting opportunity for our school leaders.
PARENT LINK - DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR SUGGESTIONS?
Parent Link is an ongoing feature of the newsletter. It is an opportunity to identify areas or features of the school that you want to know more about, ask a question or put forward suggestions. These items can then be addressed and answered in the fortnightly newsletter in the ‘Tell Me More About’ section (as above).
This is an opportunity to have a say every day......not just at the end-of-year parent survey.
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know we participate in a number of extra-curricular sporting activities? We participate in the All Schools Cross Country, Northern Netball Competition and the Northern Basketball Competition. Next year, pending student interest, we will also participate in the Schools Triathalon Challenge in Devonport.
Kind regards
Niccola Pearce

Student Achievements
A group of year 5 Mini Vinnie students took it upon themselves to prepare and run a fundraising stall. They made or purchased the items themselves and created a poster to promote it. They did all of this in their own time and then sold the items to the students during break times. They raised $153.40 for St Vincent de Paul. Well done for using your initiative and for your care and compassion towards those less fortunate than yourselves.

2025 Larmenier Uniform
Midfords will have some elements of the new P.E uniform available in the coming months. As previously communicated, all the items will not be available all at once. They will arrive into the shop as they are manufactured with some items (e.g. House polo) not being available until mid next year.
We realise that our P.E uniform will be a bit of a 'mish mash' during this transition period. We acknowledge that and accept it as part of playing the 'long game.'
There will be a two-year change over period where we move from our current P.E uniform to our new one. This period can be longer for anyone who needs it to be. During this time either the old or new version of the uniform can be worn.
Please find attached a copy of the updated uniform guide, which also can be found on our website.
